Multiple level changes are the calling card of vinyasa flow yoga, as the word “vinyasa” literally means “to lower down” in Sanskrit–hence elevating the heart rate and tapping into a moderate cardio workout as you lower down from standing onto the ground through your sun salutations.
Muscle toning sequences like Warrior 1 and Warrior 2 also build strength and muscle fibers in major muscle groups like the glutes and thighs, which contributes to better overall metabolism, fat-burning, and weight loss.
