In this “Being in the Present Moment Meditation,” we’ll use what I call the “five senses technique” to practice being in the present moment.
In this guided meditation, you’ll be asked to select items with which to direct the attention of each of your physical senses–something to see, hear, feel, smell, and touch.
By turning our attention from one sense to the other, we will practice living in the present moment and uncovering the richness that is all around us.
This makes a great guided meditation for beginners, because of the simple “task” of the mind to turn its attention to something very concrete and specific–giving the mind just enough structure to edge out distracting thoughts.
