Haven’t quite jumped on the Reels bandwagon yet?
I get it. The features are not super user-friendly, in my opinion, and it can certainly take awhile to get the hang of it.
But Instagram is standing behind their support of Reels and other video content as now having the highest priority in the algorithm.
And it’s not all dancing and remixing choreography challenges (y’all know how I feel about that). Once you get over that fear and uncertainty of how to produce a Reel and let your creativity unleashed, you really can use them as quick, easy ways to make your ideal student’s day a little better!
I initially used Canva to wade into the shallow end of Reels, especially since I was living with the in-laws at the time and whipping my camera out every day was a little challenging with communal life.
Did you even know you could use the Canva Story Post template to pre-produce your Instagram Reels? I’ll show you exactly how in this tutorial.
(Note: In these examples, I’m repurposing old content which was shot in landscape mode, so I added a background, but if you film in vertical or portrait mode, you could actually skip the background and just upload a vertical video clip or photo.)
So whaddya say…are you gonna try your first Reel now?
